Many famous reporters, writers, and others got famous for their writing as it appeared in other media. Jack London wrote for magazines and his works didn’t actually appear in book form until far later in his career. Journalists write for newspapers. The reputation and clout you carry, your “platform,” as it were, is directly related to what additional reputable names your name is associated with.
