Adjustments following the launch of Scoop.it Business

Spread the love

Just a little more than 2 weeks ago, we had our big launch at Scoop.it: opening up the free version to all and at the same time, introducing Scoop.it Business, a premium version of Scoop.it for companies. This was of course a big milestone for us, after a very successful beta that helped us build a community of users we’ve always been eager to listen to (as a matter of fact, this freemium model we launched was something our users encouraged us to do).

So quite logically, we were very attentive to the reception of our launch and we wanted to share what we learned.

First, we’ve been impressed by the number of users who signed up to Scoop.it Business. Making it free to try of course helped but we’ve seen much more than companies willing to access premium features under a subscription model. We now see individuals, NPO’s and educators also wanting specific premium versions of Scoop.it to address their own needs, primarily some lower-price version with fewer features thanks Scoop.it Business. We have to work step by step and we need to sort out who wants what as we’ve had tons of feedback but this is great! Please continue to describe which features you’d like to see as part of some of these offers on our feedback forum.

Second, we’ve seen pretty good validation of what we made a premium feature vs a free feature, except on one point: Advanced Sources Management. As we wrote on our feedback forum, throughout the beta, we had observed that only a few % of users were actually using this. So for the purpose of keeping the free version as simple and easy-to-use as we can, we decided to remove Advanced Sources Management. Clearly, we underestimated the importance it had for you guys.

But you’ve been clear in the feedback you gave us so, today, we’re happy to share that we’re moving back on this and making the whole Advanced Sources Management part of the Free Plan again.

Continue to help us improve and adjust the vision we have for Scoop.it by suggesting your great feedback.

I really like Scoop.it – I also like the features offered as part of the premium plan. But… The cost of the premium plan seems quite high compared to similar first-launch new services. I was expecting something more affordable since it needs to be paid out of my “play money budget account” until I can justify it as a real serious expense…

The value if definitely here as Darcy mentions, but i also would consider a business position at a lower monthly cost.
Also sometimes I am lost on navigation…But that is probably age setting in

Our destiny offers not the cup of despair, but the chalice of Scarpe Gucci. So let us seize it, not in fear, but in Gucci Sito Ufficiale.
