On Friday, we all learned the devastating news of Twitter leaving LinkedIn and no longer allowing its users to send their tweets directly to the professional networking site. As every professional who feeds their LinkedIn directly from their Twitter account received the email stating that “tweets will no longer be shared on LinkedIn,” frustration and confusion began to take over. How could Twitter possibly do this? Doesn’t it realize that ending this three-year relationship with LinkedIn has an impact on all of their children? What about all of the content-sharers who don’t have the time, patience, or desire to post something on one network and have to manually post it on other networks too?
This isn’t the first time that this problem has been encountered; people with presences on many unlinked social networks have been trying for quite some time to figure out how to save time and share interesting content in just one click.
They say that everything happens for a reason, and we think we know the reason for this breakup: to help get you started on using Scoop.it as a hub for your social media presence. When you connect all of your social media accounts to Scoop.it, no other relationships matter; it’s just you, your content, and us. Gone are the days of having to connect your LinkedIn to your Twitter, your Twitter to your Facebook, your Facebook to your whatever. Here, you have one solid place to bring content together, and with a few checked boxes, share it everywhere.
And, just in case we needed to take it one step further, Scoop.it makes sure all of its posts look great on every website. Once you start using Scoop.it to share posts, you’ll wonder where it’s been all your life!
So don’t worry, LinkedIn, there are plenty of other fish in the sea, but for now, you’re welcome to join all of the networks that are fed awesome content everyday from Scoop.it.
I stopped being a fan of LinkedIn when they began using everyone I’ve ever had an email from to phish from my account. This news about Twitter is just a sign that the big wheels are starting to notice what a load of garbage LinkedIn is.
If you leave Linkedin, you may make one of the biggest mistakes in your life. 80% of my sales from Linkedin. I got a job (even I have my own company) from Rocket Internet (second largest VC in Europe).
Linkedin just provides a platform, it is human how to use it.
I am not surprised or upset by the separation of social media powers.Â
Hi there. Just wanted to mention that your post is displayed black on black – i.e. unreadable - on IE 9.
Ouch… That might be my fooling around with our CSS. Is it just this post or all of them? Thanks for reporting Therese!
The unlinked never affect me. As long as Linkedin is there, I am safe.
I am not upset with this breakup. Because I mostly use FB and Google+ for internet marketing campaign. Good observation. Thanks for sharing.
What happened that Twitter has decided to break up with Linkedin.
Thanks and Regards
